Privacy Notice
Effective date: June 11, 2026 · Last updated: June 11, 2026
Eatrivo Services LLC, a California limited liability company ("Eatrivo," "we," "us"), helps people build better eating habits through non-clinical nutrition coaching with registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) and a human support team. To do that well, we need to handle some of your personal information — and we want you to understand exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it. This Privacy Notice explains all of that in plain English.
1. Scope of This Notice
This Privacy Notice applies to eatrivonutrition.com, the Eatrivo web and mobile apps, and the coaching services we provide through them (together, the "Service"). It applies to everyone who visits our site or uses the Service.
Eatrivo provides non-clinical coaching. We are not a healthcare provider and we do not provide medical nutrition therapy, diagnosis, or treatment. Because of this, Eatrivo is not a "covered entity" under HIPAA, and the information you share with us is not protected health information under that law. We still take protecting your information seriously, and this Notice describes the practices we use to do so.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information. Your name, email address, and an optional profile photo. If you sign up with email and password, your password is handled by our authentication provider — we never see or store it in plain text. You can also sign in with Google or Apple, in which case we receive basic profile information from that provider.
- Intake questionnaire answers. Your goals, schedule, food preferences, grocery budget and preferred stores, and household details. See Section 3 for how we handle anything medical that slips in.
- Meal logs. The meals you log in the app.
- Check-ins and adherence. Your nightly check-in survey answers and weekly adherence scores.
- Messages. Chat messages you exchange with your care team.
- Scheduling information. Meeting and session scheduling data.
- Video sessions. Live video sessions with your RDN are delivered in real time through LiveKit. Sessions are not recorded unless we explicitly tell you otherwise in the product before a recording begins.
- Grocery information. Your grocery list and store preferences.
- Payment information. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Stripe processes your payment details; Eatrivo never stores your full card number.
Information collected automatically
- Device and notification data. Device information and push notification tokens, so we can deliver notifications you've asked for.
- Usage and audit logs. Basic usage data and audit logs that record access to your information, which help us keep the Service secure and reliable.
Information we deliberately do not collect
- Your date of birth. During signup, we check on your device that you are 18 or older. Your date of birth is never transmitted to us or stored.
- Medical records. We instruct you not to submit medical records, lab results, diagnoses, medication lists, or treatment plans — and we actively filter them out, as described next.
3. Our Medical-Information Redaction System
Eatrivo is a coaching service, not a medical service, so we work hard to keep clinical information out of our systems. When you complete the intake questionnaire, your answers pass through an automated redaction system — a combination of keyword matching and AI-assisted review — that removes medical and clinical details before your answers are stored.
This system is a safety net, not an invitation. Please do not submit medical records, lab results, diagnoses, medication lists, or treatment plans anywhere in the Service. If you have a medical condition, talk to your physician or a clinical provider.
Separately, if your responses suggest you may be in crisis, the content is flagged to Eatrivo administrators so our team can point you toward appropriate resources. If you are in an emergency, call 911. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
4. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Service — matching you with an RDN, personalizing your coaching, generating grocery lists, scheduling and running sessions, and powering check-ins and meal logging.
- To support you — responding to your questions and helping you with your account.
- To communicate with you — sending service emails and push notifications such as check-in reminders and messages from your care team. You can manage notification preferences in the app.
- To process payments — managing your subscription through Stripe.
- To keep the Service safe and reliable — monitoring usage, maintaining audit logs, preventing abuse, and debugging problems.
- To meet legal obligations — complying with applicable law and responding to lawful requests.
5. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With your care team. The RDN and support team members assigned to you can see your coaching information so they can actually coach you. Access controls prevent other users — and unassigned staff — from accessing it.
- With service providers who help us operate the Service, and only for that purpose:
- Vercel — web hosting
- Supabase-based backend hosted on DigitalOcean (api.eatrivonutrition.com) — application database and backend services
- Stripe — payment processing
- LiveKit — real-time video sessions
- Google Fonts — fonts on our marketing website
- Expo, Apple, and Google push notification services — delivering notifications to your device
- As required by law — if we are legally required to disclose information, for example in response to a valid court order.
- In a business transfer — if Eatrivo is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Notice.
6. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months, and we have no plans to start.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
Our marketing website is mostly static and does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The Eatrivo app uses local storage to keep you signed in (authentication session storage). The marketing site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when the page loads.
8. Data Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your personal data as described in Section 9. We may retain minimal records — such as billing and transaction records and audit or legal compliance records — where the law requires us to.
9. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time, either in the app (Settings → Privacy) or by emailing support@eatrivonutrition.com.
Please understand that deletion is permanent:
- Deleting your account cancels any active subscription.
- Your personal data is permanently deleted. Deleted accounts and their data cannot be restored — by you or by us.
- Creating a new account later, even with the same email address, will not restore your prior data.
- Some minimal records (for example, billing/transaction records and audit or legal compliance records) may be retained where required by law.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Access and export — request a copy of your personal data.
- Correct — request corrections to inaccurate information.
- Delete — delete your account and data as described in Section 9.
- Opt out of communications — turn off push notifications in your device or app settings, and unsubscribe from non-essential emails.
To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app tools or email support@eatrivonutrition.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you specific rights:
- Right to know — what categories of personal information we collect, the sources, our purposes, and the categories of third parties we share it with (all described in this Notice), and to receive the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
- Right to delete — to request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct — to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we use sensitive information only to provide the Service, as permitted by the CCPA.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will never penalize you for exercising your privacy rights.
You can exercise these rights through the in-app tools or by emailing support@eatrivonutrition.com. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we will ask for proof of authorization and may still need to verify your identity directly.
Other jurisdictions
If you live in another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law (or elsewhere), you may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and export your data. We extend the access, correction, deletion, and export rights described above to all users, wherever they live. Contact us at support@eatrivonutrition.com with any request and we will respond as required by the law that applies to you.
11. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including:
- Encryption in transit — connections to the Service are protected with TLS.
- Role-based access controls and row-level security — your information is accessible only to you and the care team assigned to you.
- Audit logging — access to your information is logged so we can detect and investigate anything unusual.
No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we work continuously to protect your data, and we will notify you as required by law if a breach affects your information.
12. Children
Eatrivo is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use the Service, and we verify this with an on-device age check at signup (your date of birth is never sent to us). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, please email support@eatrivonutrition.com and we will delete it.
13. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you — for example, by email or an in-app notice — before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
